To
complete your application for admission, you are required to submit
supporting documents as outlined below.

Your required nonrefundable
$70 application fee will be processed online with a credit
or debit card. You can also submit a check, money order or College
Board fee waiver via mail. Make check or money order payable
to the University of Connecticut and include the applicant's
name and date of birth on the form of payment. |

| High School Transcripts |
Your high school transcript(s) should include your senior classes, class rank and latest grades earned. It is preferred that you include official transcripts in your packet of supporting materials. Transcripts must be submitted in a sealed envelope from your school. If you do not enclose your transcripts in your packet of supporting materials, they should be sent directly from your school to UConn. |

| GED Records |
If you have completed the State High School Equivalency Diploma (GED), send the Office of Undergraduate Admissions an official copy of your diploma and a complete set of scores. Official transcript(s) of any work you completed in high school are also required. |

| Standardized Testing Results |
SAT or ACT scores must be sent to UConn directly from the appropriate testing service or be posted on your official high school transcript. Students graduating from high school in 2006 and subsequent years must submit the new SAT or ACT with writing exam. SAT or ACT scores are not required if you are 25 years or older, or if your have completed 45 credits of college work at the time of application.

| Essay |
All applicants must complete one of the following essay questions online:
- Please describe what makes you a unique individual and how these qualities can benefit the University of Connecticut community.
- Describe a person or event that has had a profound effect upon your life.
- Ask and answer the one question you wish we had asked.

| Financial Aid |
Students should file a FAFSA online at fafsa.ed.gov. Questions should be directed to the U.S. Department of Education at 1-800-433-3243. To meet UConn’s “on-time” deadline, the FAFSA must be received at the federal processing center by March 1.

Letters of Recommendation
(Freshmen Only) |
Although optional,
letters of recommendation are encouraged as they may enhance
a freshman applicant's candidacy. Recommendation letters are limited
to a maximum of two per person. UConn does not require a special recommendation form. Any typical counselor/teacher format is acceptable. |

College Transcripts |
All
postsecondary official transcript(s) from each institution
attended are required whether or not credit is desired or
expected. It is preferred that you include official transcripts
in your packet of supporting materials. Transcripts must be
in a sealed envelope from the institution. Transcripts may
also be sent directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions
from each institution. |

| Permanent Resident Card |
If you are a permanent resident/non-U.S. citizen, submit a photocopy of the front and back of your Permanent Resident Card. |

| International Applicants |
All international applicants whose first language is not English must submit official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores. TOEFL or IELTS tests can also be a valuable supplement to the application for enrollment for those for whom English has not been their primary language. The minimum score requirement for the TOEFL is 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (Internet-based). The minimum score requirement for the IELTS exam is 6.5. Test scores must be sent directly to the University of Connecticut from the respective testing service.

| Special Programs in Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Law |
If applying to the Special Program in Medicine, Dental Medicine, or Law, answer “yes" on the online application when asked "Do you plan to apply for the Medicine/Dentistry/Law Program?"
Due to the rigorous demands of the application process for these Special Programs, applicants may only select one.
To be considered for this program, applicants must submit a completed regular Undergraduate Admission application by Dec. 1 and a supplemental application, with supporting documents, by Jan. 1. Participants must be entering University freshmen. |

| School of Fine Arts |
A portfolio review by the Department of Art, School of Fine Arts is required for admission. For all portfolio review information, including guidelines, locations, dates, and deadlines, as well as information on the new SlideRoom digital portfolio submission process, please visit the Department of Art and Art History’s web site at www.art.uconn.edu and click on Admissions.
Auditions are required for all Music, Acting and Puppetry applicants.
Interviews are required for all Design/Technical Theatre and Theatre Studies majors.
Admission decisions for these programs will not be made until the Office of Undergraduate Admissions receives results of your portfolio review, audition or interview.
There are no additional requirements for art history majors.
