Nutmeg Scholarships honor
the exceptional accomplishments of Connecticut high school seniors.
All semifinalists and finalists in the National Achievement Scholarship
Program, the National Hispanic Recognition Program and the National
Merit Semifinalist Competition are welcome to apply. In addition,
one outstanding student from every Connecticut high school may also
be nominated to apply. Selection is highly competitive. More information
will be distributed by the college counseling office at each Connecticut high
school. Applications of admission should be completed by December 1, 2009.
Day of Pride Scholarship

Available to Connecticut Residents only
Day of Pride Scholarships
are awarded to outstanding Connecticut high school seniors from
disadvantaged backgrounds who have proven academic ability as demonstrated
through high school grades, test scores, class rank and letters
of recommendation. Students should have documented financial need,
as well as a commitment to diversity and multiculturalism. Students
should also have demonstrated leadership skills by contributing
to their community. Selection is highly competitive. More information
will be distributed by the college counseling office at each Connecticut high
school. Applications of admission should be completed by December 1, 2009.
Presidential Scholars Award for Valedictorians and Salutatorians
Full Tuition Scholarship
Plus a One-Time Undergraduate Research Fellowship
Available to Connecticut Residents only
Students who rank number
one or two (Valedictorian or Salutatorian) in their graduating class may be considered for the Presidential Scholars Award. An additional one-time fellowship
is also made available to allow the Presidential Scholar to gain
research experience with faculty in an area of his or her interest. Priority consideration will be given to students who complete the admissions application by December 1, 2009.
Leadership Scholarship
One-Half
to Full Tuition Scholarship
Available to In-State and Out-of-State Applicants
Students who have demonstrated
a commitment to multicultural diversity programs and initiatives
through leadership, special talents and achievements in school and/or
community, may be considered for Leadership Scholarships. Students
should have also achieved a minimum combined critical reading and
math score of 1100 on the SAT or an ACT Composite score of 24 and rank in the top 15 percent of
their class, and who have achieved a high school grade point average of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale). Priority consideration will be given to students
who complete the admissions application by December 1, 2009.
Academic Excellence
Scholarship
One-Half
Tuition Scholarship
Available to In-State and Out-of-State Applicants
Students who rank in the top 10 percent of their graduating
class and who have achieved a high school grade point average of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) and minimum combined critical reading and math score of 1350 on the SAT or an ACT Composite score of 31 may be considered for an Academic Excellence Scholarship. Priority consideration will be given to students
who complete the admissions application by December 1, 2009.
