Alumni Admissions Volunteer Program

Our Alumni Admissions Volunteers serve an important role in UConn’s recruitment and yield efforts. Whether meeting with prospective students and families at college fairs and high school visits, connecting virtually during one-on-one chats, reaching out via email, phone, or mail, or attending admitted-student events and summer receptions, your work has a tremendous impact.
We invite you to join us in engaging the next generation of Huskies by helping prospective students in communities near and far learn more about UConn and our admissions process, all while drawing from your personal stories and Husky Pride.
For general questions or additional information about the Alumni Admissions Volunteer Program, please contact Kaetlin Benjamin by emailing kbenjamin@adm.uconn.edu.
Get Involved
Students Today. Huskies Forever.
Whether you’re short on time, or have more to give, no level of involvement is too small. Learn more about the many ways you can serve as an Alumni Admissions Volunteer and complete our interest form.
Represent UConn at a college fair in your area. Meet with prospective students at a high school college fair local to you, answer questions, share your UConn student experience, and hand out materials from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Our Fall Campus Visit Days and UConn Bound Days are hosted at the Storrs main campus each fall and spring, respectively. They’re designed to give students and families an opportunity to see our campus and meet with faculty, staff, and students from their intended majors. As an Alumni Volunteer, you may assist with registration, mix and mingle with future Huskies, answer questions they may have about the UConn brand or various career paths, and share your UConn student experience.
Traditionally held in the spring, our office hosts Admitted Student Receptions in several of out-of-state markets including Boston, New York City, Long Island, and New Jersey. Join us in welcoming the next generation of Huskies and be prepared to discuss all things UConn.
Traditionally held every August, our Summer Send-Off Events are designed to generate excitement for the upcoming academic year. Join us in providing a warm welcome to the newest members of the UConn community. These events are held both in and out-of-state. Alumni Volunteers also have the opportunity to host a Summer Send-Off Event, if so desired, in collaboration with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and UConn Foundation.
Meet with prospective students and share your UConn experience virtually through a one-on-one video chat.
Show off your Husky Pride and share your UConn story by participating as a panelist or alumni speaker. These opportunities may be offered both in-person and virtually.
Alumni-hosted events are designed to generate excitement among prospective students, and also help welcome our newly admitted Huskies. They take place in environments and settings that encourage conversation between families, alums, and UConn faculty and staff.
