Scholarships for Connecticut High School Students
The University of Connecticut offers three unique scholarship opportunities to Connecticut residents graduating from a secondary school in Connecticut. Below you will find details on eligibility and application processes for the Day of Pride Scholarship, Nutmeg Scholarship, and Presidential Scholar Award.
Interested and eligible students who are Connecticut residents graduating from a Connecticut high school may apply for either the Day of Pride Scholarship or the Nutmeg Scholarship (not both) without a counselor's nomination. The selection process for these two awards is highly competitive, and the number of applications received greatly exceeds the number of available scholarships.
Day of Pride Scholarship
Full Scholarship (Includes direct and indirect cost of attendance. Some restrictions may apply. Limited to 20 recipients statewide.)
Day of Pride Scholarships are awarded to outstanding Connecticut secondary school seniors from underserved backgrounds who have proven ability for success as demonstrated through UConn's holistic application review. In addition to a commitment to diversity and multiculturalism, demonstrated leadership, and contributions to their communities, applicants should have demonstrated financial need.
Nutmeg Scholarship
Full Scholarship (Includes direct and indirect cost of attendance. Some restrictions may apply. Limited to 20 recipients statewide.)
The Nutmeg Scholarship honors the exceptional accomplishments of Connecticut secondary school seniors. Applicants should demonstrate exceptional academic ability, have performed notable service to school and community, and possess the qualities of a good citizen and leader.
Presidential Scholars Award
Scholarship includes cost of tuition and one-time enrichment award. Some restrictions may apply.
Connecticut students who rank number one or two in their graduating class will be considered for the Presidential Scholars Award, valued at tuition for the year of entry. Information regarding the Presidential Scholars Award is mailed in February to Connecticut school counselors.
