ACES

Discover your passion by exploring your possibilities. Nearly a quarter of all first-year students are accepted to UConn’s Academic Center for Exploratory Students (ACES) program, enabling them to complete general education requirements, examine their choices, and stay on track before declaring a major. Some ACES students want time to discover options before committing to a major, while others plan to apply to a specific school or college later in their academic careers. ACES is also the academic home of UConn’s pre-professional majors. If you plan to major in any of the programs within education, you will enroll in ACES before applying to your school of interest during your sophomore year.
