Since our main campus in Storrs is essentially its own town, UConn has its own Division of University Safety. Our own police and fire departments, as well as the Office of Emergency Management, ensure a safe and secure campus for all of our students. In the event of an emergency, our campus-wide Alert Notification System informs the community of the situation, its severity, and the appropriate actions to take. All students are encouraged to register their cell phones with our system.
